Enable SSH on your ESXi host.<\/a><\/p>\n

Login with with PuTTY SSH to the host with your usual username and password.<\/p>\n

Go to the location of the HP tools<\/p>\n

cd \/opt\/hp\/tools<\/pre>\n
Create a new file<\/p>\n
vi pwreset.xml<\/pre>\n
And paste this text into it (press i to insert text) and change the value=”password” into the password you want for the Administrator user.<\/p>\n
<RIBCL VERSION=\"2.0\">\n<LOGIN USER_LOGIN=\"Administrator\" PASSWORD=\"unknown\">\n<USER_INFO MODE=\"write\">\n<MOD_USER USER_LOGIN=\"Administrator\">\n<PASSWORD value=\"password\"\/>\n<\/MOD_USER>\n<\/USER_INFO>\n<\/LOGIN>\n<\/RIBCL><\/pre>\n
Press ESC, type :wq and press enter. Then type this command<\/p>\n
\/opt\/hp\/tools\/hponcfg -f pwreset.xml<\/pre>\n
You should get an output telling you the script has succeeded.<\/p>\n
You should now be able to login into the ILO with the Administrator and the chosen password.<\/p>\n
